The team of neuroradiologists closely work with the Skull Base Surgeons to assess the neurovascular status of the patient and in tumor management. Dr. Paolo Piazza along with Prof. Mario Sanna have pioneered the technique of stenting of the intratemporal part of the internal carotid artery to enable the surgeon to operate tumors involving it. Over the past 10 years this technique has given a new leash of life to many patients who were prior to this deemed inoperable. This technique has ben hailed by many as a breakthrough development in the field of skull base surgery.
